Goalkeeper Trials for U16s (2016-17)

Fleet Town Colts U16 (2016/7 season, current school yr10) will be holding trials Wed 6th July to find a new goalkeeper to it team. Following two excellent seasons our goalkeeper has been scouted to join a local academy team to progress his football, as such we are looking to recruit a new Goalkeeper to the team.

We play in the Surrey Primary League, Premier Elite division which is a highest division in the Surrey Primary League and offers a very good standard of football. Our matches are played on Sunday mornings and we also train on a Wednesday evening. Additionally Fleet Town FC offers specific goalkeeper training on Thursday evenings. Please see below some information about the team

Stephen Finn and Darren Tye coach Fleet Town Colts U15s. This coaching pair are in their 12th year with the team where the focus has always been to encourage the boys to play confidently, expressing themselves on the pitch with a ‘pass and move’ philosophy, building on the boys technical capabilities and teaching them the way we believe the game should be played (keeping the ball on the grass, building attacks from efficient distribution from the goalkeeper through defence/midfield). At U15 coaching has evolved to the more advanced aspects of the game, players movement with/without the ball, maintaining possession, players’ decision making and communication.

The team are current holders of the Surrey Primary League Snr League Cup and have just returned from our End of Season Tour in Holland where they were successful in winning their first European Tournament trophy! Notwithstanding the success this team has enjoyed, our primary objective has been to create an environment for the boys to enjoy their sport, to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and create a good network outside of school.
