Fleet Town Colts Continues to Seek Welfare Officer for Club’s Junior Section

31ST May 2015
Dear Parents and Carers,
Fleet Town Colts is looking for a Welfare Officer for the Junior Section of our Club.

I am the current Welfare Officer and I was due to stand down at the AGM last week, however at that time we did not have a volunteer for this role. With reluctance I have agreed to stay with the Club until November this year. This will ensure that the season starts.

A manager has come forward to volunteer for this role for the Youth section only. Hampshire FA recommends that in a Club of Fleet Towns size the role is split into Youth and Junior sections. It is a key role within the Club and without it we cannot operate as a Club and this means that potentially your children would not be able to continue to play. It is also the role that ensures the safety of your children. The Welfare Officer interviews and clears all volunteers for the Club and ensures that they acquire the correct First Aid and Safeguarding training and it is maintained.
The role is not open exclusively to parents it can be anyone from the local community that has time to give the role; whilst a knowledge of football is a good starting point you would be well supported by the Club and Hampshire FA so it is not essential. We would be most grateful if you could therefore help the Club in finding a Junior Section Welfare Officer. Perhaps you know of a grandparent that has some time to spare or someone else in the community.

Please find a full description of the role here.
